Equipment

  • Large pot or Dutch oven
  • Cutting board and knife
  • Stirring spoon or ladle
  • Measuring cups and spoons
  • Soup ladle
  • Bowls for serving

Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon olive or vegetable oil
  • 2 cloves garlic finely chopped
  • 6 medium green onions sliced
  • 2 medium carrots chopped (1 cup)
  • 1 ½ cups cubed cooked chicken
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley or 1 teaspoon parsley flakes
  • ¼ teaspoon pepper
  • 1 carton 32 oz Progresso™ chicken broth
  • 1 ½ cups uncooked egg noodles
  • 2 celery stalks finely chopped

Instructions

  • Prepare the Vegetables: Heat the olive or vegetable oil over medium heat in a large pot. Add the finely chopped garlic, sliced green onions, and chopped carrots. Saute until the vegetables are tender.
  • Add Chicken And Seasonings: Stir in the cubed cooked chicken, fresh parsley (or parsley flakes), and pepper. Allow the ingredients to meld for a few minutes, infusing the flavors.
  • Pour In Chicken Broth: Pour in the Progresso™ chicken broth, bringing the mixture to a gentle boil. Reduce the heat to simmer and let it cook for about 15 minutes, allowing the flavors to deepen.
  • Add Noodles And Celery: Increase the heat to medium-high. Add the uncooked egg noodles and finely chopped celery. Cook until the noodles are tender, usually about 8-10 minutes.
  • Adjust Seasoning And Serve: Taste the soup and adjust the seasoning if necessary. Ladle the Progressive Chicken Noodle Soup into bowls, garnish with fresh parsley, and serve hot.
