Ingredients
  

For The Chicken

  • 4 boneless skinless chicken breasts
  • 2 cups buttermilk
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon paprika
  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper adjust for spice preference
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Vegetable oil for frying

For The Dipping Sauce

  • ½ cup mayonnaise
  • ¼ cup Dijon mustard
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1 teaspoon hot sauce adjust to your spice preference

Instructions
 

  • Marinate The Chicken: Place the chicken breasts in a bowl and pour the buttermilk over them. Ensure they are fully submerged. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 2 hours or overnight for the best results. This step ensures tender and flavorful chicken.
  • Prepare The Dipping Sauce: Combine the mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, honey, and hot sauce in a small bowl. Mix well and refrigerate until needed.
  • Prepare The Breading: Combine the flour, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, cayenne pepper, salt, and pepper in a shallow dish. Mix thoroughly to create your breading mixture.
  • Bread The Chicken: Remove the chicken from the buttermilk and allow any excess to drip off. Coat each chicken breast with the breading mixture, ensuring they are evenly covered. Press the breading onto the chicken to help it adhere.
  • Fry The Chicken: Heat about 2 inches of vegetable oil in a deep skillet or frying pan to 350°F (175°C). Carefully place the breaded chicken breasts into the hot oil, one at a time, avoiding overcrowding. Fry for approximately 5-7 minutes on each side until golden brown and crispy. Use a slotted spoon to remove the fried chicken and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain any excess oil.
